DIEM Full-Arch Replacement or Dentures?
Removable dentures are a quick, cost-effective way to replace missing teeth. However, many patients find them inconvenient because they must be taken out when eating or brushing. Dentures do not fuse to the jaw bone, which means they do not prevent jaw bone loss through stimulation the way that natural teeth roots or dental implants do. Without stimulation, the jaw bone deteriorates and facial features begin to sag, causing you to appear older than you actually are.
By choosing the DIEM system to restore your smile, you enjoy the convenience of a fixed, natural-looking arch of teeth. Your prostheses remain in your mouth at all times and require no special care. Additionally, the dental implants that support your new teeth fuse to the jaw bone, providing stimulation to keep the bone healthy and prevent facial sagging. Implant-supported restoration is an investment in your long-term oral health and provides much more convenience and functionality than removable dentures.
Am I a Candidate for DIEM Full-Arch Rehabilitation?
You may be an excellent candidate for full-arch restoration if:
- You are missing most or all of your teeth. Patients who are fully edentulous (missing all of their teeth), partially edentulous (missing some of their teeth), or with failing dentition can benefit from full-arch restoration.
- You have sufficient jaw bone and gum tissue to support dental implants.
- You are in good general health and can undergo a surgical procedure using sedation safely.
- You have good oral health habits.
During your consultation, we will discuss your oral and overall health to determine if full-arch restoration is right for you and explore all of your treatment options.
Types of Anesthesia
Our practice offers many types of anesthesia and sedation for your comfort.
DIEM Full-Arch Replacement Procedure
Our surgeons at Kitsap Oral, Maxillofacial & Dental Implant Surgery use detailed 3D imaging technology to plan the details of implant placement with great precision. During the first visit, we will take 3D scans of your mouth to create your custom treatment plan and discuss your anesthesia options.
If the jaw bone has deteriorated, bone grafting may be a part of your treatment plan. Your surgeon will place bone grafts where new bone is needed and once the grafts heal, you will be ready to undergo the full-arch procedure.
The full-arch replacement procedure only requires one surgical visit. Your oral surgeon will administer the anesthesia and insert four dental implant posts into the jaw bone. Some cases may require more than four posts for additional support. We will attach a temporary prosthesis and you will leave our office with a new, fixed smile. After the implants heal, which can take several months, your dentist will place your final, custom-made denture.
Because only one surgical procedure is needed, recovery is much faster compared to multiple individual implants. Many patients return to their normal routines 1–2 days after surgery. With your new teeth, you can enjoy your favorite foods with no dietary restrictions, speak comfortably, and live confidently with your beautiful new smile.

Reviews From Our Full-Arch Restoration Patients
"My name is Richard, I am from Bremerton, Washington, and I had a full-arch restoration. The staff here at Kitsap OMS is absolutely wonderful. The doctor himself just really put me at ease also. I just felt confident in the way he treated me. About the procedure itself, it went very smooth. The recovery was wonderful and I was surprised again how quickly that transpired. It improves your confidence as a human being. I’m a happy person when I look in the mirror. I would highly recommend Kitsap OMS."
